How to Protect Your PS3 Games

PS3 gaming consoles and PS3 games are gaining popularity day by day. The games are costly and certainly nobody likes the idea that sooner or later, your game discs will damage. As Shakespeare said, time is the worst weathering element! They don't spare your game CDs too. At certain point of time, your game discs will succumb to scratches, cracks, or other types of deteriorations which can make you favorite games unplayable. How frustrating this situation can be for passionate PS3 gamers? The fear for such situations has forced many PS3 gamers to search for methods to protect their games, and ultimately their pockets too!

But fret not; there is a solution to this problem! The simplest way to counter this problem is to make duplicate copy of your games; keep the original one in a safe storage and use the copied games to play instead. When the cloned or copied discs get damaged, take out the original discs and make a copy again. That way, you can preserve your games for a very long time. Blank discs are very cheap nowadays so it's recommended to backup all your original game discs.

Many people try to fix the scratches of discs at lower level with all kinds of tricks that can be found on the internet, specifically in forums, blogs, video sites, etc. Some of the more popular ones are the banana trick and the alcohol trick. These tricks work only on the reading surface of the game discs and also at a very minor level. Such tricks give the impression that the tiny scratches get removed and the surface is even out. But these methods are not permanent, and sometimes can do more damage than good.

The single best solution to this is still to backup your games with a game copy software. They are many software you can download from the internet. Make sure you get one from a reliable and reputable software developer who has received many positive feedbacks. It's money worth spending if you're an avid PS3 gamer.
