Downloadable PSP Games

One of the most engaging aspects of the PSP is that you're able to download games right from the internet for very little cost. However, the problem is that these games are scattered across an abundance of web sites and it can almost be impossible to know which ones you can trust.

Before you even begin searching, you should know for sure if your particular PSP will run these games correctly or not.

Your PSP has something called firmware that basically controls everything from the hardware to any software, and only some versions will allow you to play the games that can be obtained online. On the other hand, there are ways around this problem if you find your PSP isn't compatible.

If your PSP is new, then it's more than likely you have firmware that you'll need to work around.

There are emulators that you can use, but be aware it's pretty much the same as a PSP hack. Many gamers are using these, and there are quite a few to choose from. However, you run the risk of possibly harming your PSP if you decide to use one.

Once you have determined that the downloadable games will run on your PSP, or you have sufficiently enabled it to do so with an emulator, there is still one more thing you may want to look at.

Your PSP has its own memory, sure. However, it may not have a memory large enough to carry all the games you're thinking of downloading. And seeing that many of the best PSP websites have literally millions of music, games and movies that you can grab for a one time fee, you may want to consider buying a memory stick so you don't have to worry about running out of space!

Downloading...

While you can browse the internet right on your device, it's certainly preferable and much easier to use your actual PC when browsing and downloading games. All you need to do is to connect it with a USB cable so you can transfer the games in whole to the PSP.

This comes in handy especially when your games are compressed or zipped. More than likely, your computer already has a program to unlock and open these files, such as WinZip or WinRar.

So in conclusion, finding and being able to play downloadable PSP games can take a little bit of time as it's imperative that you find the trustworthy and reputable websites to make it a problem free experience.

The tips here will hopefully save you time and some of the headaches that come with getting started. After you get everything set up as outlined above, you'll be playing all your favorite games in no time!
